I'm voting for Bernie Sanders in the Democratic Primary on principle and then whoever wins the Democratic Primary just like he says he is going to do.  That's the way I see it and will feel good about it.  Sanders said he will support Hillary or whoever wins the Democratic primary if it is not him.  Sounds good to me.

Just found out President Clinton is now a total vegetarian because of he heart surgery. He's was the best President so far in my lifetime. Franklin Roosevelt who got the US out of the Great Great Republican Party Depression of the 1930's lasting 12 years was the best ever US President to me(understood that people have different favorites--those are just my choices).
If Paul Ryan/Romney wins thePresidential election we will have 4 plus years with Affordable Healthcare Act, Financial Services Reform Act, and new potential Supreme Court Justices like Clarence Thomas and Anthony Scallia. It would be a nightmare! No thank you, I'm voting for President Obama and the Democrats on the state and local level.

Shopping is an art when you are not loaded with money. Bargaining sucks, unless you have no money at all. Window shopping and comparison shopping too prior to blowing your minute budget for the week. Shopping for the best price during Republican Party Austerity: "cutbacks, layoffs, & taxcuts for the richest 1% will create jobs. It's the 'Democrats' and 'President Obama' who are responsible for the 2008 Worldwide Recession, lasting unemployment & Deficit."(Sure....Want to buy the Brooklyn Bridge? If you believe that, I can help you if you believe that) It's 'his' fault that Republicans blocked a larger stimulus, & his current Jobs Bill Stimulus for a year.' 'We need to bring back the Republicans & policies of 2008'???(Sure....)
...but shopping for best price fruit & produce from low cost volume providers when you can't afford expensive health food supplements is an art. Same as the best investors shop for bargains and lowest priced high quality stocks.

When shopping for US President I may like the Green and Justice Party Platforms(and think the Democratic Party National Committee should review the Green and the Justice Party Platforms for ideas and consideration to include in their own present and future party platforms); but I want the 99% to WIN so I am voting for President Barack Obama again and Democratic Federal, State, and Local Candidates. Because we unfortunately have a two party system really and the Democratic Party is way better than the Republicans.  Only real choice there is Democratic Primaries.  After that it is crazy to vote for Third Party or Republican 1%ers.

(12-24-2007) HERE IS MY TAKE ON ELECTABILITY AND THE UPCOMING DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY AND MY TAKE ON THE KEITH OLBERMANN SHOW ON MSNBC AND DEMOCRATIC PARTY CANDIDATES ON THE CHARLIE ROSE SHOW AND REPUBLICAN ACCOUNTABILITY AND ABUSE OF POWER:

1. ONE THING I LEARNED FROM MY LATE FATHER ALONG WITH WHY HE WAS A DEMOCRAT BECAUSE OF ALL THE THINGS THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY HAS DONE FOR THE MIDDLE CLASS AND THOSE MAKING LESS THAN $100,000.00 A YEAR WHICH IS MOST PEOPLE: IS THAT NO MATTER WHO YOU FAVOR IN THE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARIES, IT IS -ALWAYS!-BETTER TO VOTE FOR THE DEMOCRAT IN THE GENERAL ELECTION.
AT FIRST I DIDN'T BUY THAT, BUT HE WAS RIGHT. WE GOT MANY DANDY CANDIDATES IN THE PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY NOW--THERE'S LOTS OF PRESIDENTIAL TIMBER THERE. BUT NO MATTER WHO YOU SUPPORT--AND THERE WILL BE WINNERS AND LOSERS---NEVER LET THAT GET IN THE WAY OF VOTING DEMOCRATIC IN GENERAL ELECTIONS--OR INDEPENDENT EITHER--THAT'S HOW WE GOT 8 YEARS OF GEORGE W. BUSH--A WORD TO THE WISE....

2. THE FIRST HALF HOUR OF THE KEITH OLBERMANN SHOW I NOW TAPE MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY(MINUS ODDBALL AND HIS 'SPECIAL COMMENTS'--THE LATTER GO ON TOO LONG--AND SOME MAY ENJOY THE FORMER BUT I DON'T)
COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN IS STILL A BREATH OF FRESH AIR MINUS THE 'ODDBALL' AND 'SPECIAL COMMENT' PARTS OF THE SHOW. HE GETS GREAT GUESTS WITH INSIDE INFORMATION AND DIGS DEEP WITH THEM TO EXPOSE RUPUBLICAN AND OTHER POLITICAL ABUSE OF POWER AND LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY.
HE GETS A BIT TOO VEHEMENT SOMETIMES BUT THERE'S CONTENT THERE AND HIS HEART'S IN THE RIGHT PLACE (TO ME) POLITICALLY. HE HAS A SENSE OF HUMOR TOO AND LOOKS LIKE A HANDSOMER GROUCHO MARX AND TRIES FOR GROUCHO HUMOR WITH GOOD TRIES--BUT HIS NEWSWEEK AND CONSTITUTIONAL LAW PROFESSORS AND WASHINGTON POST AND SO FORTH GUESTS BRING OUT GOOD MATERIAL YOU DON'T EVER HEAR ON REGULAR NEWS.
(I DIDN'T KNOW THAT MIKE NICHOLS' WIFE DIANE SAWYER THE ABC ANCHOR USED TO WORK FOR RICHARD NIXON OR THAT CHRIS MATTHEWS COMES FROM A REPUBLICAN BACKGROUND THOUGH HE WORKED FOR THE LATE DEMOCRATIC SPEAKER THOMAS O'NEIL WHO I DID LIKE WHEN HE WAS ALIVE...POLITICS--STRANGE BEDFELLOWS AND ALL THAT--TRUTH STRANGER THAN FICTION)--I CAN'T STAND CHRIS MATHEWS 'HARDBALL' SHOW ON MSNBC PERSONALLY BY THE WAY WHICH BRINGS ME TO CANDIDATE APPEARANCES ON PBS' CHARLIE ROSE SHOW.

3. DEPENDING ON THE GUESTS AND IF THEY ARE 'FOR THE HOUR' AS HE OFTEN SAYS WHEN INTRODUCING SOMEONE YOU'RE NOT INTERESTED IN---STILL I TAPE HIM MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY TOO BECAUSE IF THE GUEST IS GOOD--AND HE GETS GOOD GUESTS BECAUSE HE THROWS SOFTBALLS OR AT LEAST SEEMS TO HAVE THAT REPUTATION -- A GREAT ANJOLINA JOLIE INTERVIEW ABOUT THE MOVIE GIA AND A HOST OF ISSUES COME TO MIND--IN HER EARLY DAYS---WITH CHARLIE ROSE YOU GOT TO TAKE THE BALL IN YOUR OWN HANDS AND HE WILL LET YOU TALK--OTHERWISE HE DOES THE TALKING LIKE YOU'RE TUNING IN TO HEAR CHARLIE'S COMMENTS--THIS I PERSONALLY UNDERSTAND AND DO TOO OFTEN MYSELF--IT'S BECAUSE HE IS SUPER PREPARED AND FEELS IT'S WASTED IF THE GUEST DOESN'T TAKE THE BULL BY THE HORNS.
WHAT I AM SAYING IS THAT I HAVE NOTICED IT IS A MISTAKE FOR THE GUEST TO LET HIM INTERRUPT THEIR ANSWERS--I'M THINKING OF THE RECENT PRESIDENT CLINTON INTERVIEW HE DID--CLINTON BEING AN EXCELLENT POLITICIAN ALLOWED CHARLIE TO INTERRUPT--BUT AGAIN--IT'S A GOOD SHOW--I WATCH IT FOR THE GUESTS--HIS HEART IS IN THE RIGHT PLACE--AND I GO WAY BACK WITH CHARLIE ROSE TO THE DAYS WHEN HE HAD 'NIGHTLINE' AND WAS THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN IN MASSACHUSETTS FOR LATE NIGHT TV TALK SHOWS.

Credit Card Users: The 'Credit Card Bill of Rights' is Congressional legislation sponsored by Senator Robert Menendez designed to end sudden hikes in fees and interest rates and prevent card issuers in general from targeting vulnerable consumers. This is a consumer protection bill likely to be opposed by the Republican Congressional majority.
Almost worse than President Bush is the Republican Congress which was also responsible for the heavily Credit Card Issuer-Biased New Bankruptcy Law against the consumer. No, it will not reduce your credit card bills AT all(which will go up like your gas prices are now).
Two good authors and books about the news coverage or lack thereof on issues like these are: WHEN NEWS LIES by Danny Schecter(best known as 'the news dissector(spelling?)' on WBCN-FM in Boston); and 2.) FEET TO THE FIRE; THE MEDIA AFTER 9/11 by Katrina Borjesson.

(2-17-2006) Today I want to mention a few comments about a few positive people and things in passing: Cornell University graduate Bill Maher of Real Time on HBO and formerly of Politically Incorrect on ABC TV. It is so sad that Bill Maher's Politically Incorrect had to leave national network tv exposure(albeit in a limiting late night spot) for the much more limited pay for play HBO.
Bill Maher surfaces periodically as a guest on Larry King Live and amazingly guest hosted Larry King Live to my pleasant surprise on one occasion. Bill Maher I wish would be a regular guest host on Larry King Live instead of Prosecutor Nancy Grace. Larry King immitates this Walter Winchell-like over dramatic annoucing of the guests and also loud, over dramatic repititive announcing of his own name right and left that so and so is going to be on 'Larry King Live' or stay tuned for more 'Larry King Live' and Your Calls. Terrible! It's the guests which are never announced in the tv listings which make Larry King Live and Ted Turner putting him in this incredible gatekeeper position to the often good guests.
Larry King who I remember vaguely listening to once or twice when he had an all night radio show WORKED WELL as a radio announcer BECAUSE of the all night option --often the only option--for his listeners when he was in Miami.
From chain smoking the cigarettes like his close butt fiend Mike Wallace; Larry got and still has what I call the 'radio announcer's deep chain smoker voice'. I don't recall this loud, dramatic Walter Winchell guest introduction on the talk radio show from Miami the once or twice I accidently listened to it when I lived in Miami for a year.
One on the one hand is reluctant to put Larry King down and on the other hand feels he shouldn't be so lazy about improving given his now International TV audience and consequent gatekeeper position --because of the exposure he can thereby offer--to interesting guests--sometimes.
So one feels Larry King deserves very qualified praise and, alas, I feel I have to check out his program--at least enough to see if the guest is worth it--and then--boom--he let's Bill Maher guest host that once--and has him on regularly as a guest.
It hurts to have Bill Maher and Al Franken in such ultra limited viewer domains(the latter with a talk radio show).
So now you have Jon Stewart on - again - a limited, Comedy Central Cable channel, but at least on nightly, and with the all important guests from various spectrums that one misses from Politically Incorrect. Let's face it, we're a tv nation. There's lots and lots of general common denominator crap on tv --true--but the longer, better sometimes(Charlie Rose on PBS--sometimes)interview shows and the History Channel and PBS documentaries. The news is canned but easier and quicker from the tv--endless repetitious and negative --but that's what news is--one wants to check it out quickly and get it over with--the bad news...and the good news is often boring 'human interest stories' or 'soft news' as it's called.
Jon Stewart on basic cable Comedy Central vs. Bill Maher on pay for play HBO? It's not so much apples and oranges as you would think. But the exposure is different with different coverage and result or significance like different camera exposures so to speak. And the more the merrier, by the way, of voices and outlets and guests like Jon Stewart
and Bill Maher attract and get. Their 'progressive'/liberal-centric guests are more interesting and even their conservative guests are more interesting and have better sense of humors which is ultra necessary when discussing politics interestingly.
When Jon Stewart hosts the Academy Awards it will be a good thing in the sense that it will bring more attention to him and his show. Bill Maher has a great sense of humor but is not a good comedian. He's a good political comedian. I have seen both him and Jon Stewart field live criticism of themselves on tv unphased, with humor, and that is an important test for me of watchability too. They appear secure enough in themselves to take a hit--so to speak--and come back with humor and even one-upsmanship so to speak.
Bill Maher's immitation Johnny Carson stand up--including the same facial expressions and doubletakes and everything; is the weakness in my opinion. It's when he sits down and starts talking to his guests that he shine in my opinion.
And lastly, with Jon Stewart, as Katrina Vanden Heuvel the current editor of The Nation, hinted at when she was talking about his tv show: The Daily Show--his news satire--and the very good Stephen Colbert spinoff--it sometimes comes off as a kind of cynicism--Jon Stewart's sarcasm and satire--against both democrats and republicans--understandable enough. Jon Stewart can take the live digs and hits without batting an eyelash--but sometimes he seems a little too sure of himself and self-satisfied in his confidence. And more so with Stephen Colbert's new spinoff: The Colbert Report.
Still, these criticisms are slight, all in all, relative to the other talk shows and alternatives. And to be fare, though it is rare, the occasional guest who feels he knows Larry King well enough --especially the comedians--can't resist chiding and making fun of Larry King to his face and he too seems to take it. But that dum laugh of his--'uh-uh-uh' always at the wrong time--always missing the jokes more often than not--can wear on you and become nauseating to watch and listen to.

Just saw Clinton economic advisor Gene Sperling on Book TV over the weekend speaking at a bookstore called Politics And Prose in Washington DC about his book: THE PRO-GROWTH PROGRESSIVE; AN ECONOMIC STRATEGY FOR SHARED PROSPERITY and really liked what I heard and also his response to even the tough questioners. He talked about his successes and mistakes while working for President Clinton,
and more importantly talked about some future economic proposals that made sense to me and I think would make sense to both middle and lower economic class voters.
I think Democratic Party candidates and others should check this guy out. He Sounds good.
Another interesting Democratic candidate for whatever office who I think bears checking out is Governor Mark Wagner of Virginia. I feel this after seeing him interviewed on the Charlie Rose TV interview show on PBS on November 28th, 2005.
These are two democratic individuals who sound good and sound like they may be capable of countering all the Republican and Conservative misrepresentations and attacks which duped the economic middle class in particular, 'tax cuts'(for the wealthy), and so forth. Sperling and Wagner seem to know how to go after those Republican and Conservative straw issues--at least on my First take of them recently on TV. Check them out.

About Me: Politically: I'm a liberal-centric member of the Democratic Party who could be considered a member of the Loyal Opposition to the Republican Party/Bush/Schwartzeneggar/Rupert Murdoch Regime. And in this respect I am in favor of Regime Change.(Regarding Murdoch look how he ruined TV Guide while raising it's price 10 plus fold! Surely that alone is grounds for Court Martial!)(And CNN isn't necessarily 'liberal' either--as it is often billed-it is more a matter of degree--CNN is merely more fair and impartial...Compared to FOX news) And the TV News-in particular--puts these negative things in one's face each day-if you watch it. The Republican Party's getting away with Lack Of Accountability George W. Bush) And False Advertising in general(Sometimes Referred To As: Fraud And Deception taking advantage of the American people's who too often lack of time or ability to keep up with such things). My views and comments do not necessarily reflect those of this PBS Station nor are they meant to. They are my opinion and experience only. And though the Bush/Schwartzeneggar/Rupert Murdoch Republican Party has been seeking to cut such 'Entitlements' including the right to getting air time for the liberal-centric viewpoint along with the entitlement to the pursuit of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for the economically disadvantaged. So the Democratic Party is my party and I'll cry if I want to. They have given me plenty of instances and reasons to cry when they put up well intentioned but weak or wrongly timed Presidental or other candidates. I recognise the right of others to disagree.
